🔧 CRC Rust Converter 1 Gal: Ultimate Solution for Corrosion Prevention Review

I just tried this rust converter. What I found wasn't very good. This product is as thin as water and does very little. All other brands I've used in the past had some body and went rusty black quickly. CRC - good company, every product I have had from them in the past has been top notch. I'm starting to wonder if anyone diluted this product before I received it.

Appears to give good coverage and sealing but not fully effective at converting rust. I prepped and attached my truck's frame per the instructions, where it worked looks great, where it didn't quite work you can still see the orange rusty frame. I would say it worked for about 70% of everything I covered. If I think of coming back I'll let you know how well it handles winters with salty roads.

I bought this based on the price expecting it to work as well as the Kleen Strip Rust Converter. CRC paints rusty metal dark orange instead of black; and the second layer doesn't seem to do much. Orange is deleted, so something isn't working. I loved being able to wipe down my black bumper and hitch to remove the rust and then not have to paint when the Kleen stripe turned black. Seems to work very well. Use it on the underside of my truck. Looks good and since it doesn't clog everything you can still screw a wrench under it. Since this is a chemical reaction and the label says 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, I waited until the weather warmed up to the mid 60's before applying the product.
