I found replacement lampholders at my local hardware store but they had a pigtail that was very difficult to connect in the tiny space inside the tube under the lampholder. These outlets have wire connectors that allow for easy replacement without complicated splicing. They are also height adjustable if you want to adapt them to other sockets. Ordered 2 sets to remodel a 10 bulb chandelier. Although I received 2 sets of parts, I did not receive 2 identical sets. 1 was much better than the other. The best kit had set screws to attach the cardboard insulator and the outer plastic bushings fitted snugly. The 2nd set insulators don't fit at all, nothing holds them, and the plastic outer bushings don't fit at all and just hang out. The 2nd set also has a much lower maximum height than the 1st set. Three of the four sockets on our hall light stopped working due to defective sockets. I was unable to make an exact replacement due to the physical limitations of the existing hardware. They were longer than the original rosettes but look great in a chandelier. They are easy to install. Simply pull the wires out of the old socket and unscrew, then feed the wires through the threaded hole in the base of the new socket and screw into the lamp.
