Creative Hobbies Bottle Lamp Kit allows you to easily convert your treasured wine or decorative bottles into unique, convenient electric accent lamps or repair and restore an old lamp. Side hole in lamp socket means no drilling of glass bottle for lamp wire to pass through. Cord is 8 Ft long. Includes 3 different size rubber adapters for various bottles (1/2", 3/4" and 15/16" diameter size) and instructions for use. Threaded nipple is 1/8 IP and 1-1/2" long. Lamp shade sold separately (uses type of lamp shade that clips onto light bulb). Cord set & fittings. UL Listed. 75 watt max household bulb recommended.

Super easy to use, best in lamp socket

very light. Made an electric lamp out of an oil lamp. I had to add some material around one of the plugs because it wasn't big enough. I knew I didn't have to be big like that.

Pros
  • The side hole in the lamp socket means you don't have to drill into the glass bottle to run the lamp cable through. Cable is 8 feet long.

Perfect for bottles

Making wine bottle lights and this is perfect for those. My only complaint is that they don't have the silver clear wiring that I would take for clear bottles.

Not suitable for light sockets

Quality is good. However, the rubber adapters do NOT fit 1.75 liter alcohol bottles. They are so loose that the lampshade wobbles on the bottle when assembled. It can be taped in place for a better fit, but there's no reason the largest adapter wouldn't fit the bottle. If it were 1/16 inch taller it would be perfect. I will look into another supplier as I will be making several of these lamps.
