Creative Hobbies Bottle Lamp Kit allows you to easily convert your treasured wine or decorative bottles into unique, convenient electric accent lamps or repair and restore an old lamp. PRE-WIRED Lamp Socket With Side Cord Exit (6 feet long, SPT-1 wire) means no drilling of glass bottle for lamp wire to pass through. Includes 3 different size rubber adapters for various bottles (1/2", 3/4" and 15/16" diameter size) and instructions for use. Nipple size is 1/8 IP and 1-1/2" long. Lamp shade sold separately (uses type of lamp shade that clips onto light bulb). Cord set & fittings. UL Listed. 75 watt max household bulb recommended.

Not as advertised! for Electrical

The instructions say you can unscrew the wires etc. It would be great as this is a lamp repair or fitting kit. However, what is broadcast is HARD WIRED. There was no way to use it without cutting the wires, soldering them, and wrapping them with tape. I tried to avoid it.

The universal kit did it.

Lamp fitted. So far no problems at all. In my case, I didn't need anything from stoppers with rubber bands. I was able to attach the assembly to a plastic bottle cap. It has settled in well. Now we just have to wait and see how it holds up in everyday use.

Extremely easy to install

I bought an old bottle with a cap, but the cord was old. I checked out the kits at my local store and they all had a cable coming out of the bottom. This one was exactly the same as the one on the bottle, so I just unscrewed the old one and screwed on the new one, and Wa La. New!
