CTA Tools 2037 Square Head Drain Plug Socket - 10mm Review

This is a well made tool. The chrome finish is nice and the 10mm and 3/8 inch sizes are accurate and match the tool and oil plug well. This item has no markings or identification stamps at all.

It's good that there wasn't a small ball/bead on the head. It's for the differential drain plug and it fits a little more. I sanded it down a bit and it fit perfectly, I removed the rust cap. I would recommend for any solid square drain plug.

I ordered this 10mm socket and 3/8" socket for a notched mower drain plug. I don't know which one would fit. This 10mm socket is a bit large, please make sure you know the exact size of the notched drain plug before ordering.

Don't even try to remove drain plugs on Japanese vehicles with a 3/8 inch ratchet. You will round off the square head and will need to weld on a bolt to remove it. Just understand. Easy and uncomplicated. It fits perfectly over the drain and filler plugs and provides the torque needed to remove them without damage. Required for any Metric vehicle tool kit.

Works as expected. 5 Stars. Excellent delivery. However, the packaging could be improved. The plastic insert broke off after being handled twice and remained in the socket socket. Difficult to remove. Too bad it broke as the packaging could have been a little stronger at the junction of the flat back and liner. If so, it would be a good label to avoid losing it in the socket box.
