Set the right size!

It's well made and quite difficult to work with, but I had a 6 inch diameter excavator cylinder. It's too big for the instrument. It is possible that this tool will stop working after 4 inches in diameter. However, I have never broken it and I have suffered from it - I bent a 36" pipe wrench in the process and have never broken this tool.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Works well with wrenches

opened the gland nut on my bobcat 331 barrel driver. Good to have a 3/4" drive instead of a 1/2" drive. The hinge screw loosens a bit with use and I had to tighten the screws holding the pins but it worked. If I had to use one of these every day I would find a better one, but for occasional use it's perfect.

Cons

Need better pens! for hand tools

Need better pens! The first time I used it was on a 580c body stabilizer bar cylinder. Iron stuck, bad! But my first try with a new wrench just broke both large diameter pins! I didn't even put much pressure on her. I switched to smaller diameter pins, tried it on a smaller cylinder and it worked fine. So I went back to a larger cylinder with smaller pins. So far I haven't managed to unscrew the screw, but the small pins haven't broken off (with great effort), neither have the big ones.

Pros
  • Wrench
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
