Not as easy to put on and take off as more expensive gaiters, but they work well and protect against snowmelt, which is what I needed. Used successfully on a 3 day hike. Four stars because they're not the best socks I've seen, but I think the quality is worth the price.

Although I haven't had the chance to wear mine in the snow yet, they appear to be well made and ready to withstand as much as my last pair of gaiters (have just wore them in the rain today and they were great!). The model I received is slightly different from the picture: no top button (which shouldn't be a problem as there is a zipper under the velcro); and the strap under the shoe doesn't go forward (which I didn't understand anyway).
