After opening it I noticed that there are holes in several places and it looks like it is covered in some kind of white animal hair.

I can highly recommend this mattress pad. It survived a site move at Ubox (1 month) and fully protected my mattress. When I drove my mattress home it was raining and the mattress was on the roof of the SUV and that wasn't a problem. The mattress and cover are in very good condition. The mattress topper is thick and fits my queen pillowcase.

We used a cover when moving a king-size mattress that we wanted to keep clean. It fits with space to spare. The lightning was strong. The straps are completely separate. The movers didn't use it at all, which probably meant it was too finicky to bother with. Other covers we received for smaller mattresses had handles, which the movers appreciated. The material is durable.

Love this product. I've spent way too much time looking for different ways to store my expensive mattress in the garage and this seems to be the most reliable option.
