As soon as I unscrewed the top from the base I saw that the filter was BROKEN I had to put the new coffee pot I was waiting for right back in the box to return it .

Very well-made first class moka pot. It's nice too. A cup of 10 is good too. Remember, these are cups of moka, about 1.5 ounces per cup. so it's really about 2 big cups of coffee. It is made of high quality stainless steel and therefore has a certain weight. It can be good or bad, it's a bit hard. And the handle is close to the pot, so you need an oven mitt or kitchen towel to avoid burning your hands. Very nice mocha pot on the stove!

I've had several coffee makers on the stovetop over the years including a couple of Bialetti and a couple of Vev Viganos. This is by far the best manufacturer I have ever had. Filling in the area is easy. There's no extra-wide brim to catch random particles that end up getting stuck in the pad (a big problem with most other brands), so cleaning up after use is extremely easy. Bought this for my wife and it sat for a while before finally using it during Hurricane Isaac when we had a week of power outages but our gas stove was all also worked with a match (old school). We particularly like the coffee, which was full-bodied and aromatic thanks to the Lavazza Moka grind. It is very easy to clean and if you follow the instructions, preparation is quick and easy.
