DO NOT RECOMMEND - WILL NOT PROTECT THE WHEELS

I bought CuchCore to try to protect my new bike wheel. During the first 2 miles of my first ride I was hit by a rim and a flat tire. Upon closer inspection I found a mark on the CushCore where it flexed (see photos) and allowed my rim to be damaged to the point where it would not hold air with a tubeless tire. I weigh 210 pounds and set the pressure on my 29x2.3 tire at 30psi on a medium track. Given the raw materials, the price of this product is grossly overpriced. I would not recommend it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Hard to say

I will no longer ride my MTB without a rear insert.

I'm a 185 lb rider in Arizona on a 160/140mm road bike and quite aggressive on descents. After tearing the carbon rim at the rear, despite using a 29 x 2.5" Aggressor at 23psi and bending the aluminum rim and flattening the 27.5 x 2.8" Nobby Nic at 18psi, I decided to easy to pay for Cushcore. Well, I won't break any more slices. I accidentally reset my Plus tires to 7psi (played with pressure on the new Recons) and sent them down the hill, setting a second-fastest time against all odds. No rim

Difficult to install but worth it!

I had some broken wheels and a lot of traffic jams. I've tried other inserts and they all didn't work for me. I got a 2" pinch using it downhill but it saved my bike! I take a little walk and change an $80 tire all day instead of buying new wheels. Of course, Enve guarantees everything that takes a little longer than a month without handlebars. When assembling, stretch and lay the tire on one side first, then insert. When installing the other side of the tire, make sure it is fully inserted…

Installation is a pain but worth it

I knew when I bought them the setup was going to be bearish and it was, but after a few rides. I am impressed. Flexible and stable, they soothe small bumps, soften big drops and rock gardens, and increase responsiveness in turns, making my 29er feel fast and snappy. My best advice is to follow their installation instructions. Once you complete the first, you'll know how to do it, and the second is a little easier. Don't use brand new tires when fitting them, and have cold tires on hand if…

Cheap insurance, better built MTB

Cheap insurance plus the added benefit of better trail feel on your bike. I still can't believe how much better the bike feels. The easiest way to explain the difference in sensations is to switch from snorkel to tubeless. Maybe even aluminum rims on carbon. The difference in how the bike feels is clear. I bought CushCore to prevent the carbon wheel from pinching and breaking. Photos are included and before you know it was low air pressure I had 32psi. Arizona has a lot of cacti, snakes, rocks,

It's like solid tires

The manufacturer's claims are true. From the first ride the tires appear to be solid rubber, which soaks up bumps big and small much better and results in less rebound, meaning more ground contact time and therefore faster recovery of full traction. It's not a 50 percent improvement, it's a 20 percent improvement, which is very important to me. A slowdown when accelerating or extra strain when going uphill, ie weight doesn't matter. I'm an avid biker and near mediocre, don't do anything crazy…
