The manufacturer's claims are true. From the first ride the tires appear to be solid rubber, which soaks up bumps big and small much better and results in less rebound, meaning more ground contact time and therefore faster recovery of full traction. It's not a 50 percent improvement, it's a 20 percent improvement, which is very important to me. A slowdown when accelerating or extra strain when going uphill, ie weight doesn't matter. I'm an avid biker and near mediocre, don't do anything crazy or fast but my local trails can get really rough with lots of roots. If the price is 0-2 instead of 2-3 tire changes per year, then it's more than worth it.
