Works great. residential application. Replaced a slightly different type of breaker (6 years old) that blew at random intervals for no apparent reason. Many of these modern switches are based on electronic circuitry and microcircuitry, as opposed to older types which were primarily mechanical in design. So modern models can be temperamental. This unit successfully replaced the seven-year-old but lately spirited breaker. Now the circuit is stable and I am happy with this purchase.

Expensive but it worked

Bought for my daughter's house where the arc stopped working. This was for a 20 amp circuit that only had a kitchen disposal. I was expecting it to be a ground fault (wet place) and not an arcing fault, but replaced what was there. It's not just Revain or that seller, all of these arc fault switches are extremely expensive for what they are. I know they must include some sort of small handling fee, but it seems excessive. I think GFIs were expensive initially, but the website I saw said arcing…

Good fire protection switch

I bought this to add a new circuit to my garage. My house is not new and all the panels are old style Cutler Hammer. You can get old circuit breakers that look like the others for very little money, but I wanted an AFCI switch. These AFCI switches trip on short circuits, and houses burn down. If they were cheaper I would replace all of my existing circuit breakers, but they are cheap enough that any new circuit I add will be AFCI. The outlets you use must be 20 amp (they have a small horizontal
