Insufficient load on the cable

The main problem with this cable is that the cable is only 18 gauge, not the 14 gauge required for a 15A load. Do not rely on the size of the 15A fuse to determine the rating. 18 gauge wire is only rated for 3 amps, which is sufficient for low power applications, but anything higher will result in excessive voltage drop across the wire, causing problems or even damage to your equipment. said an electrical engineer.

  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Damaged

Terminals too small

Bought this for my 5th wheel to inflate tires. Surprisingly, although most RVs run on 12V, there are no 12V outlets, especially outdoors. I have 2 group 27 batteries in a small compartment and drilled out a 1/4" port to fit the 5/16" battery studs. With this socket I can get to all four tires with a small air compressor. This socket and cord is very well made, with extra fuses in a small zipped pouch that attaches to the fuse holder.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • High price

Be careful. Suitable for spare parts

This product initially worked well. Eventually he collapsed. I take some responsibility for failure. I was about to move the battery that the cable was connected to, so I rolled up the cable. The "insulated" wire touched the top of the battery. I put it on a chair and the cord caught fire. I suspect that the insulating material is very thin or not as insulating as it should be. I could use this product again but be very careful what the insulated wire touches.

Good product but note the grommet size

The product looks good quality but the inner diameter (approx 5mm) of the grommet is too small for the strut bolt on either of the two camper batteries I have . Rather than sending back I will try to drill them out first and if that fails I will simply replace the tabs with the correct size. I contacted the manufacturer and they responded very quickly and offered a refund, but this product will be perfect once the grommet issue is resolved, so I'll keep it to myself.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • No power

Grommets do not mate with RV battery connectors

I was hoping to be able to just plug this cable into my RV's deep cycle battery and use the cigarette lighter socket to power a portable air pump to inflate tires. However, the ring terminals on the cable do not even reach near the battery terminals. I don't know if there are batteries with smaller terminals, but it looks like this product doesn't connect directly to a typical car or RV battery. Instead I cut the wires under the built in fuse and connected the wire to the 12V DC fuse panel. The

Ideal for use with small batteries and small connectors

I was specifically looking for a plug adapter with small ring terminals because I wanted to use it with a small 12V 18A battery. The standard ring terminals on most plug adapters tend to be much larger as they are designed to connect to car batteries with large terminals. Large ring clamps wouldn't work in my application, but small clamps worked perfectly on this device. A fuse is built into the wiring, as well as two additional fuses. Spare fuses are attached to the wiring in a small pocket…

Very happy and surprised, great quality, great price!

Well, I needed a socket to connect several signal lights that work from the switch and don't take up the socket in the car. You know basically for my volunteering they installed warning lights on the dash occupying 1 of 2 cigarette lighters in the car. Now the new setup is a wire from the battery to the switch on that outlet which is really cool because it already has a built in fuse, I ran under the dash and my dash light bulbs connect to it. I just leave that switch on. I didn't cut the cable

Works fine for me for spares

I ordered this to fit my Yamaha Majesty Maxi Scooter. I connected it directly to the battery on the back of the bike. I know others have said the lugs are too small, but they worked great with the smaller battery my bike uses. I drilled a hole from the battery through the seat pan to the under seat storage compartment. I had to cut 2 wires, thread them through the hole and then use crimp connectors to connect them together. The fuse holder is located directly behind the battery. I keep it…
