This isn't silk, it's polyester or acetate. Tried to use for natural coloring. Use twice as much dye as needed. took none of it. I did a burning test - with silk, the flame goes out by itself, the fibers turn into very soft ash and smell like burnt hair. This one, as seen in the photos, turned into a hard plastic when burned (you can see it glittering in the light); the flame did not go out, but immediately caught fire - all aspects of polyester and acetate. From the looks of it, it can be a scarf or a long scarf. While the description is light, the amount of fabric gives it a nice weight, it's not flimsy at all. Black is "black" (some blacks are grayer, but this is true black). Not as soft as I would like silk to be (hence 4 stars and not 5) but I think it will soften over time. Quality assembly/tailoring.
