grab it - you won't regret it! Our Beagle ran loose (sometimes and mostly when we were away) due to a broken loop in our underground dog fence. Within two hours of receiving this kit, I found three (3!) tears and repaired them all using a waterproof splice kit purchased at the same time. I used this to locate the solenoid valve on my sprinkler. I had to play around with this thing for a while to figure it out. I wouldn't use headphones, the sound can suddenly become loud. The sound isn't exactly black and white. There is some gray between nothing and the last tone. Do you really want to hear a specific sound before you start digging and I turned the gain to the max - WITHOUT headphones.
