The end that enters the ear is sharp and very uncomfortable. I used a metal file to trim the edges but it still hurts if I don't insert it carefully. The thickness is almost 16g. So if you have a standard piercing it can appear like a stretch. They are sweet. and at a reasonable price. I wear them quite often but they irritate my ears if I wear them multiple times in a row. I won't buy them again, but I won't send them back either.
