Very happy with the Darice brand

Works well and adds great texture with basket weave pattern. I love that it is larger than many other embossing folders available from other well known brands. Works well with my Big Shot, but be careful not to use paper that is too thin - it can tear a bit (although I may have used the wrong sandwich for the Big Shot).

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Long waited

Very deep embossing

Beautifully embossed image - I gave it 4 stars because it's not as versatile as some other folders. This gives you paper with deep embossing, sometimes too deep. Some of the papers I tried were so deep that the paper actually "cut through" the drawing. It works well with thicker card stock; over 110 pounds.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • I will add later

Has paper feel like a quilt

I don't know what fascinates me about paper embossing and I'm probably super bored because of it, but I liked it. I managed to make a postcard I found on Pinterest that required quilted textured paper and it worked! I had to use one more tab on my Sizzix Big Bump than the manufacturer recommends to get a nice, solid print, but it looks fantastic.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Neutral background for all types of greeting cards

I make and sell greeting cards for our local libraries and needed a 5" x 7" neutral embossing folder for my A7 greeting cards. This embossing folder adds a nice dimension to the background of my map pages. Please see the client image for an A2 card (5.5"x 4.25") I made using this folder (it works for both A2 and A7 cards ). Automobile. I either leave the embossing pattern undyed or apply Distress Ink to the front of the card to bring out the embossed surface.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
