I chose this collar because it does not require batteries which can leak, fail or otherwise injure the dog. Since he sleeps almost anywhere he wants when we get up in the dark, we never knew where he might be and have stepped or almost stepped on him multiple times. He is a German Shepherd/Rottweiler, black and impossible to find in the dark! This collar is great because it helps us find it without turning on the light. Now I feel a lot better potty training at night because I know it's safe.

Bought to avoid stepping on a black dog in our bedroom at night. As you'd expect, it's light at first and then gets darker - just like any glow-in-the-dark product. We find that at 5-6am in a dark room there is enough light to see/avoid the dog. That suits our needs. We use him in addition to his regular collar. Looks strong enough but our pup is clingy on the leash. When he comes in from outside, it seems brighter than when he leaves the house. He is nice and bright when he comes back from playing during the day. The collar barely glows when I take it off after dark. We live in an area with no light pollution, so it's pitch black after dark. I can still see it, but not very brightly. So this product works, but not as brightly as we would like.
