Description of πŸ”Š High-Fidelity Dayton Audio DC28FT-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Truncated Tweeter for Enhanced Sound Reproduction

Same performance specs as the popular DC28F "Silkies". Truncated faceplates permit close driver spacing. Damped rear chamber makes low crossover points possible. Treated silk dome offers smooth response with airy highs. Matches or exceeds the performance of many high-dollar tweeters.

I used this to replace the burnt large driver with .

I used this to replace a burned out tweeter driver on my M-Audio studio monitor and wow what a difference, the response is smooth and I will definitely be buying another one.

Excellent replacement tweeter

These tweeters are much larger than I expected. I have never bought Dayton speakers before and am very glad I chose them. Used to replace tired tweeters with a pair of KEF C40 speakers. In short, they're well constructed and sound great. worth your money.

Pros
  • delivery was very quick
Cons
  • repair

Highly recommended. best in car audio

Their frequency response was lower than that of the tweeters they replaced. but wow! The highs are tighter and not at all shrill. There's a premium feel to the product and they were twice the weight of the standard tweeters they replaced. Highly recommended. Some cutting may be required (the size of the base is suitable for them, the hole needed in the box is much larger).

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • boring packaging

Ideal for car audio

The perfect sounding tweeter for my speaker - ADC 303AX. Couldn't find a DC28F-8 1-1/8" 8 ohm silk dome tweeter. Much to my chagrin, the tweeter was too big for the speaker's hair-thin tweeter. I had to widen the speaker's tweeter hole to fit. The DC28F too -8 would be too large. The tweeter dust cover sticks out and touches the speaker grille.

Pros
  • Ideal for small households
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great sounding tweeter

I bought a pair of Modaunt Short Festival Series 2 speakers and factory Isophon KK7 tweeters which have been phased out. I had to modify the cabinet a bit to fit the back of these Dayton tweeters, but the result sounds fantastic. In terms of their properties, they are very close to the old isophones, but with a lower bass range. However, I left the factory switch alone and couldn't get enough of it. The highs are nice and crisp, especially when turned on. They are a great addition to a very…

Super smooth and clear audio file. worth listening to But till the end

I have been using a Dayton audio system for many years and I have to tell you that some of the best tweeters I have ever heard come from this company. Don't worry, you can find speaker replacements for almost anything, these units are well made, have never had any issues and are built to last. BTW these soft dome tweeters have been in audiophile magazines for a long time, many people don't talk about them anymore, but they still sell the same silk soft dome tweeters as they did in their day…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Disappear
