Description of Dayton Audio DCS165 4 Classic Subwoofer

4-layer VC with polyimide former allows high power handling. Vented pole piece and bumped back plate provide plenty of VC travel with minimal compression. Copper pole piece cap minimizes inductance. Rigid non-pressed treated paper/Kevlar cone with rubber surround. Great for home and automotive applications.

Good computer sub. Best speaker ever

Built a box for it and hooked it up to my Nobsound audio amp/subwoofer. Sounds very good. Acoustic suspension at the moment, not sure I will port it to see if it sounds better.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Expensive

Awesome Subwoofer for Home Audio

I used it to add a subwoofer to my RV sound system. I built a 0.5 cu ft vented box set up following the instructions on the parts express website. It works great in this app.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Volume

They sound like 10 " woofers!

Used in 2 special sealed boxes hidden over the tire wells in a 2019 Wrangler JLU. Boxes are sealed approx 0.5CF filled with Wadding Soundstream PN2350D 350W to drive them through the factory stereo They fill the bass like two 10" woofers. Even with 8 other speakers (boosted), they are very loud and deliver great bass. I beat her for a few weeks and am still holding on. The frame is steel, the magnet is big, the clamps are solid, they hold the wire tight. The cone itself is rigid and has…

Great sub for its size. Perfect for my application!

I installed this adapter at a 45 degree angle in the space between the kitchen cabinets on the wall. I was limited by the space available, so size 6-1/2. I installed the speaker in a plywood trapezoidal tube that wedged into the space between the kitchen cabinets, turning the empty space into a punctured speaker box. The speaker and ports both shoot onto the countertop in my kitchen. This speaker is used to boost the bass from a pair of 10 inch in-ceiling speakers that lacked depth even at low…

Decent speaker for the money

I bought these for a bluetooth speaker I made. These were dedicated low frequency subwoofers and they do the job well for a 6 inch subwoofer. I also bought 1" tweeters, 4" mids and regular 6" mids for the left and right main channels. These subwoofers added the desired bass response I was looking for. I really like Dayton Audio stuff. You just need to know exactly what you're buying and what you're going to use it for, pair it with the right enclosure and power, and they're great speakers. Now…
