Description of Dayton Audio MK402X Bookshelf Speaker

4" treated-paper woofer extends the low-frequency range to play down to 60Hz range without hindering critical vocal range. 3/4'' tweeter delivers precise vocal and instrumental reproduction. Wide speaker dispersion range means these speakers can be used in myriad ways without compromising on sound quality. Short signal paths maintain the input signal quality. 4 ohms impedance is compatible with a range of amplifiers.

Amazing good bang for your buck

I've heard a lot of speakers but these speakers represent excellent value for money. If you're looking to build a quality stereo or home theater system at a great price, these speakers are a serious consideration. Can't recommend them enough.

  • Good cause

Time to rock again.

I needed a set of inexpensive speakers for a simple solution that would allow me to easily listen to music in my living room. Just soft music or a bit of "rock" every now and then. This speaker set looks good, sounds good and has made me feel good since I installed it. Some of those old "things" sound better now than they did many years ago.

  • looking forward to it

Better voice than ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2

While I currently use a Dayton Audio B652-AIR 6-1/2" 2-way bookshelf speaker with AMT tweeter, I don't like them music speakers when you press them too strong, it sounds much better in terms of voice and overall naturalness audioholics.com can be found via a DuckDuckGo and CNET search titled "Great stereo speakers for the price of a sneaker".

  • Sturdy build

Worth every penny and better than the average bookshelf speaker!

I bought these to replace some Dayton Audio 6-1/4" bookshelf speakers that I had assembled as a kit from Parts Express and have since moved from my desk to my living room sound system. The 1/4" basses perform pretty well for their size and these 4" models live up to the same heritage! I only hook them up to a 25 watt amp but the fidelity and bass are ok incredible! Don't wait for the concert. db levels, but if you listen to them at a reasonable or even quite high volume, they sound perfect. The

Great Desktop Speakers

Good size for PC desktop speakers and small spaces. Fits well on a desk or small table. The sound isn't "audiophile" quality, but for what it is it works pretty well and is good value for money. I wouldn't say they're superior to more expensive speakers - they're not - but they're good value for money and if you need speakers for your garage or PC or other secondary use like an old cassette deck then go for them if they are there will work and sound good. Don't expect tons of bass or anything…

Bookshelf speaker very impressed

Low price doesn't mean the speaker sucks and this is a great example. I bought a couple of these for my B speaker which works alongside my NHT towers and now I listen to them more often than not. First, they are not party speakers and do not fill a large room like a physically larger speaker. Woofer design and low sensitivity dictate lower overall volume per watt of power so I would recommend a good quality one in your amp like the A/B power supply in mine as you will need to crank the gain up…

Great bass, compare Micca MB42x.

I have both the Micca MB42x and this one and would like to share some of the differences I noticed. The main difference is that they can output a ridiculous amount of bass for their size. With Miccas I gradually lose clarity and detail even with a 5db bass boost, with them I can turn on a 10db bass boost and have no loss of clarity at medium volume in the near field setting powered by the Fosi TDA7498E. With a 10db bass boost I get subwoofer punch levels in EDM bass heavy and trap music up to…
