I ordered this to transfer some old home VHS tapes to more modern media - currently DVD. The software loads immediately after unpacking. The converter plugs in between your VCR, camera or whatever - and a USB port on your computer. When I ran the tape into the VCR, the video appeared flawlessly on the computer screen. So far I've used this device to capture game captures from N64, Gamecube and PS3 and it had no problems capturing any of them. When I first looked at the footage, I was surprised that it was able to shoot at 60 frames per second without any stuttering or hiccups. The sound quality was great too.
