We got the job done

Easy to use. Up to a few thousand. They performed the required thickness measurements where no other method would work except X-rays. A good, practical solution for measuring thickness in hard-to-reach places for the price.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Nice and simple product

Nice and simple product; However, the speed function does not work. I can't adapt this setup to the material I'm trying to measure. Actually there is no way to set it up. The up or down arrows do nothing. Connect the converter; turn it on and wait for the startup to complete. I press VEL and nothing happens. Pressing the up or down arrow does nothing.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Defective sensors

When I received the first unit I tried the sensor(s) that came with it. I put in new batteries, connected the sensor and calibrated on the device according to the instructions on the calibration disc. Then I changed the speed of sound to a material I was familiar with (a metal rod with a perfectly flat surface) with a thickness of 1.6mm. The reading changed every time I placed the transducer on the sample, sometimes reading 1.6mm (the correct value), sometimes 3.2mm (twice the actual thickness…

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Available in white only
