If you want true black at zero light, buy Lamp Black. This soft black is a completely different matter and does not replace real black. Soft Black is a very dark mauve or dark matte brown with hints of purple. When mixed with white it gives a grey-brown color, more brown than grey. It is best to use mixing with other colors. For example, when mixed with medium green, it gave a rich dark green.
