Great product; excellent support

The device works like a dream, much better than the difficult to use software that came with my Nikon. Just insert a memory card into your device, connect it to your computer, and you can easily move a file or an entire card without worrying about other methods. Also, the customer service is fantastic. The pins are a bit delicate so I must have bent them when I inserted the card, but Delkin sent me a new one, no problem. Technical support is provided by experienced people in their office andโ€ฆ

", but the same cards will mount normally when using other readers

Two of these readers have failed after minimal field use. Shown on Mac as "unreadable by this computer" mounted or displayed, but the same cards mount normally with other readers. In both cases, the readers were kept with protective caps and used only occasionally.

Pros
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly
Cons
  • Updates

SD doesn't mean bad design

The SD card slot has never worked on some known good cards. The first microSD card worked for about 30 seconds, then that slot died out. Sent back for a refund.

Pros
  • Up to 500MB/s data transfer (10x faster than USB 2.0)
Cons
  • Some cons

Fast, relatively compact SD card reader with some disadvantages

Delkin Travel Reader DDREADER-46 has SD and microSD card slots. On Win 8.1, only one card could be read at a time, depending on which card was inserted first. It says "UHS-I and UHS-II Compatible" on the box, but it doesn't have UHS-II pins for a faster interface. It is also speculated to be "10x faster than USB 2.0 readers, up to 500MB/s". While USB 3.0 can be that fast, the reader is capped at a theoretical maximum UHS-I speed of 104MB/s, which is only about three times faster than USB 2.0โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Plug & Play
Cons
  • Almost never
