Unfortunately I had to send this one back. It didn't charge my device, probably because the end is slightly longer than what's compatible with my Dell XPS 14 laptop.

Dell has replaced plugs on new Ultrabooks with a smaller barrel-shaped plug so you can keep using your old adapters instead of throwing them away. Works perfectly!

If you have an old Dell charger with a big barrel, this key could be a good workaround for you. Unfortunately I may have received a poor quality key as mine had to be held down to continue charging. The laptop continued to charge and I didn't get any weird error codes, but having to hold it with some pressure to keep it charged gets annoying.

Buy a new Dell laptop with a small 4.5mm power jack on the power supply. I have several old Dell PSUs with a large 7.4mm jack. I verified that the old power supplies were the same voltage and at least the same amperage or higher than the new one. They are. When using a Dell OEM 65W PSU (DP/N 74VT4) with this Dell XPS 18 1820 AIO dongle, the XPS 18 will not correctly recognize 65W through the dongle. Instead, a PSU warning is displayed during POST indicating that a 65W PSU is required. I've tested this with both a Dell 65w PSU and a Dell 130w PSU and the result is the same. I was pleased with the good firm contact of the 7.4mm adapter with the plug of the 130w 19.5v power supply I used. a lot old 7.4mm power supplies and it's very frustrating when I accidentally leave a 4.5mm device in.
