Description of Dell Power Adapter 90 Watt MKN5F

Neatly wrapped cords and cables fit snugly around the adapter for less bulk in your bag. The LED indicator lets you know it's on, and makes it easy to find in a dimly lit space. Up to 3X smaller than our previous models, and 30% less bulky than other leading adapters (including cables). Every detail has been carefully considered - from soft, bendable cables to smooth, rounded corners.

Excellent OEM charger, universal compatibility

I can't argue with the price as many others are selling the same or similar at a higher price on other websites. I also love the fact that this is an OEM Dell charger that's still compatible with older Alienware laptops like my m11x r2. The halo port lighting looks great too, but I wish there was a way to turn it off during use.

Works as expected. Very satisfied!

Saved about $15 compared to buying from Dell and it's a legitimate brand and I received it quickly. Charges quickly and does not overheat (the most important feature) as stated on the product information page. I love the charge indicator light. It's easy to find in dim light or in the dark. There are no problems yet. Very happy with the purchase. Thanks very much!

  • 1 year trial

An improvement over older PSUs

I bought this for my Dell Inspiron E6420 to replace an old PSU that not only powered the laptop but didn't actually charge it (plugged in instead of charging) but also a strange clicking sound that seems to be a sign of fire hazard. Happy with my purchase as the new PSU is thinner and works just as well as the old one (at least when it worked)

Pros
  • There's something there
Cons
  • Minor issues

Supports Dell Express Charge and is thinner than a standard 90W PSU

Slim and fairly light compared to the standard Latitude unit, it's a performance upgrade from my now-dead Dell PA-12 Slim Family Power supply 65 watts. , but unfortunately almost twice as thick (bleh). Pros + It charges my laptop at full power of 90W so the Dell Express Charge feature works. earlier and trying to figure out what happened). Cons - I wish it was an ungrounded plug; It's easier to get thinner international adapters for ungrounded plugs. - There's a lot more thickness here than the

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Too bad I can't rate the old Dell PSUs 1. Finally a new PSU that ACTUALLY CHARGES the battery! I'm tired of batteries dying when the adapter is plugged in and needs to be charged. This adapter actually supplies the Dell Inspiron 1521 with enough power to keep the battery charged! Dell has done a pathetic job with batteries and adapters in the past. I hope this is a sign that they are finally improving their quality. The time will show.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

One of my best decisions.

This adapter is exactly as advertised but slightly better. It's thin and light. Installs easily with no problems. It was easy as pie and worked without any problems. The seller sent the adapter safely, with no doubt that it would arrive safe and sound, with all the cables, and the transaction went smooth as silk. If only every purchase were that easy. I will buy again from this trusted seller.

Broke after six months

Dell cables are designed to fail. There is a notch on the main stone around which the cable should be wrapped - this is how the charger is supplied. Unfortunately, this is a sharp turn and parts of the cable will break over time. As a result, your computer cannot be charged through the cable. It will be able to draw enough power to run but not enough to charge. Basically, Dell's monstrous design turns your highly portable laptop into a non-portable desktop.
