Mind-Bending Challenge Unleashed: DELTA Hanayama Metal Teaser Puzzle Review

I have this puzzle and some other low level puzzles. This is currently my favorite because I solved it but couldn't figure out how to solve it multiple times until I finally found the path and figured out the correct method.

I like the design of this easy puzzle, really 2 out of 6 don't 3) but it suffers from portability issues. It was very difficult to take apart the first time, but now that I've done it dozens of times, sometimes it literally falls apart by itself while rotating.

This is a fun puzzle. The trick requires everything (even the hidden stuff) to line up almost perfectly, yet it still falls apart with almost a "pop" or "click" rather than the smooth precision of some Hanayama puzzles. Still very nice, and after solving the "trick" in the design a couple of times it seemed to slide in more smoothly. All in all a great little puzzle game.

The appearance of this puzzle is different from most of Hanayama's. It is a matte golden color with an antique look. Like an artifact that can be found near the pyramid. The solution isn't too hard to figure out how it might work since the parts don't vary much. However, careful positioning is required to reach the final solution. Even if you know this, solving it much faster every time doesn't help. A great addition to any collection.

It is made of good material and will last a long time. It should be rated a 1 on the difficulty scale, not a 3. I personally solved it in 20 seconds, and my family members solved it in less than two minutes. They had never solved such mysteries before. If you are looking for a more challenging puzzle, I would recommend the cast metal Hanayama Starfish Puzzle. It has a lower difficulty level but is MUCH harder to solve, took me a few days and my family over a week.

Bought two of these for gifts this holiday season. I gave one to my 29 year old brother; and the other 12 years old. Both recipients were delighted and excited when they opened it. Both recipients solved the puzzle in 10 minutes! I was surprised and will definitely invest in a higher difficulty next time. The puzzle was well designed, but I had an error. One part had a problem sticking to another part. I can only assume sticky residue or the coating wasn't fully cured before installation. I have attached photos showing the stuck parts. And a picture from the inside showing the gray metal due to the fused parts. I'm a big fan of Hanayama puzzles but this one was disappointing. After less than a dozen fixes, it's gotten so loose that parts can even separate on their own without user input. With minimal effort, even with one hand, everything is now in order. For example, I tried to solve it for his friend, and after a few minutes of his attempts, he got up to leave.
