Works well! to body and fairing

I bought this to insulate the hot spot above the gearbox on the floor of our RV. While this didn't completely eliminate the fever, it reduced it significantly to the point where the area could be touched without fear of blistering.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Not bad

Good fit and finish

Product corresponds to the description. The sticky side isn't as sticky as I was hoping (had to use short screws/washers). Yes, I carefully degreased the transmission tunnel. ATTENTION! Raw edges can be razor sharp (ask me how I know). They should have a big red sticker on the sign warning of sharp edges. Although the product is of good quality.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Aluminum is excellent at dissipating heat from the heating element.

I use it when assembling reflow ovens (ControlLeo2). It's about 1/8 inch thick and has a 10 mil aluminum layer. Aluminum is excellent at extracting heat from the heating element and spreading it fairly evenly across the sheet. It helps reduce hot and cold spots. .

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • There are nuances

great product for chimney fan

The adhesive is very strong so it is important to have a plan of where you are going to use it. I've used it under and behind an installed fan in my fireplace. My goal was to reduce the vibration and rattle when the fan was running at half speed. It turned out that this product eliminated almost ALL the noise at maximum fan speed.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • doubt it

A good product. The only thing I can choose is what I am.

Definitely either reflective or insulating or both. I put this on the trans tunnel of my rx8 and the cup holders went from hot to just over warm. A good product. The only thing to note is that I had some trouble sticking to some geometry. Works for constant radius etc, stiffer in transitions. A 5 star product if you apply it to a properly shaped surface.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Reliable

When replacing the gearbox I applied Tunnel Shield to the gearbox tunnel and the temperature difference is truly amazing. I don't have temperature readings, but previously the heating in the handbrake housing was very high, now it's almost ambient temperature. I keep testing it on my arm because I just can't believe the difference.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Update available
