Much less than I thought.

My father collects bottle openers and I bought him this for Christmas. He liked it but I was a bit disappointed with the size of the opener, it's so small I'm not sure if it can actually open the bottle. For example (and I didn't realize this when I bought it) look at the size of the bottle caps in the picture and the size of the bottle opener on the bottom of the rocket body. caps. So if you want it to just sit on a bar shelf it's great and looks really retro and pretty. If you actually want…

***Updated 12/2020**** The last piece of metal that could ever catch on the bottle cap is worn out. Now he's in the trash. ********** This thing looks cool and has a lot of weight. Yes, the paintwork is amateurish, as if done by someone with no skill and/or care for its appearance. It's like your kid is drawing it. Problem #1 is that it doesn't do its job well: removing caps from bottles. You will NOT take this hat off on the first try. It takes me 2-3 times for this because the opener ring…

Retro rocket is best for opening bottles

Bought as a gift for my dad who has always been interested in rockets and spaceships. It has a great design and a great weight. Opens bottles fairly well. However, the painting left a lot to be desired, especially the red color. A few scales on the nose and the edges of the fins, as well as a fairly noticeable thin spot on one of the fins. I suspect this gives it an "old" look, like a rocket that has had multiple flights. However, this is a pretty cool and unique "retro" gift. Note: This is the

Terrible quality, don't waste your money.

Wow, that's nowhere near the Design Toscano quality. It's garbage. The casting is very sloppy and uneven, with excess material in some places and not enough in others. The picture is absolutely terrible. Straight lines are not drawn, everything is wavy. There are rivets that run the length of the rocket, but instead of being formed as part of a mold as expected, they are dots of silver painted on the surface of the rocket. All dots are different sizes and do not form straight lines. Some are…

Big disappointment.

Very disappointing. I really wanted to love this cool design. I don't care if the seams and moldings are uneven because it just adds character. It might have been good talk for my bar, but it was a flop. Yes, I think it's great as art. As a functional thing, it's terrible. The area of the flame is basically too small to fit on a standard bottle cap so it doesn't snag the rim to lift. You CAN keep going around the lid and prying it off in small increments until it pops off, but that's terribly…
