Just bought another one to fit a 13lb rig. I've used one for 5 years to keep a Canon 800mm + 5DSR running for $17k and it works great! Desmond's plates are top notch. My only gripe might be their 1/4"-20 screw. I use two Really Right Stuff hex head/hex key screws just to be safe (they never break and always hold).

I would have skipped reviewing this type of product but as I have read some faulty reviews I had to write this and help others not to be misled. I needed inserts for a specific application and these (100mm and 150mm) looked perfect but I didn't want to buy them as some people said they were too small to work with the RRS QR. I have 2 BH-55 LR ball heads and an RRS PG-02 full gimbal pano head and they all worked great with this plate as they really are exactly the same as the $80 RRS plates. RRS

A very good Arca-Swiss lens plate for the price. Shot peened anodized uniform, no shiny or bare spots. Switzerland compatible, this Desmond QR plate makes it compatible. It has an eyelet that will hold it onto the Nikon stem when properly tightened. I used some Loctite to make sure it didn't come loose and used a screwdriver to tighten the screw to get it all the way in. I use it on my Tamron 150-600. A small protrusion protruding from the rim at one end prevents this large lens from rotating.
