Ideal grinder but expensive adapter

This is fantastic when combined with a 5 amp battery. The grinder works great and is very easy to use. A couple of times I've accidentally slowed down because the wheel is a bit easy to turn by hand when grinding, but that's not a problem. My only gripe was connecting it to my store bought 1 1/4" vacuum hose. Dewalt has adapters but they cost a lot and many say they don't fit well. So I went to the big orange store and found a modified adapter for just over $6. Find my customization in theโ€ฆ

Good enough to sand a boat's hull without a cable.

I've used it on a few BIG projects so far. But getting under a ski boat and sanding it down for paint is MUCH nicer than not tripping over a long extension cord. The battery life fully meets my requirements. But I have a stack of Dewalt batteries but I found the 4Ah battery worked well, the tool compensates for the weight of the battery. Knowing variable control is REALLY nice to have. Sometimes when sanding, you don't need or NEED a full power sander. So that's also a nice plus from my oldโ€ฆ

Replaces cable in most cases

With the new 4 Ah battery, we get almost 30 minutes on a full charge at top speed. First we sand the putty, not the wood. I've used this on wood, but when I need to sand wood for longer than 30 minutes I use a belt sander first and then finish with this sander. The weight can be a little heavy and you can only grab from 2 sides, but that's not a problem. You can take it two ways: with the bag on, which works for most uses, or I sometimes turn it so the vents are out of the way and remove theโ€ฆ
