Good Quality - Leather Working Accessory

This was my first rivet setting tool and I was very happy with it. This is good quality for those who don't use it professionally or on a daily basis. Great for the backyard farmer

Pros
  • Good Workmanship
Cons
  • Long Life

Simple and functional

Good, simple and well-made tool for setting copper rivets in leather. Thanks to him, my rivets look nice and smooth.

Pros
  • Leathercraft
Cons
  • Expensive

All is well.

I had high hopes for this. I use the regular version of Tandy for copper and brass rivets and was hoping this would make the rivets cleaner. The holes on the side prevent a straight hammer from setting the rings onto the rivets. However, recesses do a much better job of finishing rivets. Now I use both tools.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Useful tool, inconvenient workmanship

So pretty cheap for what it is. At the end of the stroke you have very nice rounded edges. a rivet which may leave a crease in the skin as shown in the picture. I would sand it down but there is very little space between the largest rivet and the edge, I don't want to risk messing it up and then the whole tool is useless. What good is it if a company rounds on one end but not on the other? Just my five cents

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Rivets only 1/2 " or shorter

Very good, strong and shiny tool, good value for money. but the setter is less than 1/2" thick if you have one Using rivet longer than 1/2" you have to improvise to make it work or the rivet will bend and get stuck. I get a 1/2" screw 5.5" long, class 5, threaded part cut and discard, drill 1 deep into the cut end with a good 5/32 bit (a drill is better) and this will make your best rivet rod, but since I already have a jig for the dome piece, a blunt one will do just as well and slightly…

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • weak
