🍯 Honeywell DH70PWKN: 70 Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier with Drain Pump & 5 Year Warranty - 2019 DOE Compliant Review

This device is so unreliable it's amazing. From time to time (and quite often) it will turn itself off, change the humidity level you set, and sometimes it will stop using the pump and start filling the tank. I had to unplug it an average of 4-6 times a day to restart it. When using this dehumidifier, be prepared to keep an eye on it at all times. This device is so terribly bad that I can say with absolute certainty that I will never buy a Honeywell product again.

Bought for our basement. The first week worked fine, then the pump broke and the switch stopped working. We managed to reset it hoping it was user error or an accident - worked fine for another day when the pump failed again along with the tank full sensor - water everywhere and a dark control panel though this thing worked. I had to turn it off to turn it off. Garbage. And the hassle of repacking and shipping it to UPS for a refund. DON'T BUY FRIENDS.

Others have reported problems with the pump and filling the tank. But for us it was a stroke of luck. We have a home that is in need of an expensive drain repair, so the basement was experiencing a difficult water leak. But not since we got that desiccant. It has worked flawlessly so far (I speak with concern when it started raining heavily again) and is having a major impact on my finished basement. I will update as the season progresses. ********** BUYER ALERT ********** I have received two of these units in the last two weeks and they only have one fault and one problem after others, from suddenly turning off for no reason other than doing what it is supposed to be doing, to the pump turning off very loudly and NOT turning off until the unit is unplugged.
