Unfortunately, nothing beats lead.

As much as I wanted to be lead-free, that definitely didn't make me believe. I mean it's decent material but it's better not to apply a second coat and it's better to get it right the first time, that's all I want to say. There's no such thing as reheating this stuff and storing your joint afterwards.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Working Speed

Works well with old lead-tin solder on joints

This solder meets current safety standards and no melting point is listed. A good temperature was found to use this solder, then the temperature had to be increased to melt the solder on the 2010 and 1994 PCBs. The old higher temp works fine with the new solder. Mixes with existing solder when replacing old components.

Pros
  • Solder
Cons
  • Expensive
