Mini 3 Digital LED Voltmeter: Accurate DC 2.5-30V Red Volt Voltage Meter for Measuring Power Review

Seems to work well. I dropped the star because the device in the photo is two wire and what was sent is three wire. (Separate power and sense wires, common ground.) This hasn't been documented, but the product still does what it's supposed to do, just need to connect the red and white wires together.

This meter works as advertised: at 2.2 VDC the digits are dim but the readings are accurate. At 4VDC it runs at full brightness and draws 30mA to power the display. The built-in current control prevents current consumption up to the limit of 30 VDC. If used to measure batteries, make sure it is turned off when not in use to avoid a slight but constant discharge. Excellent value for money and quality!

I bought this meter to check the voltage of the 18650 and 14500 size Li-ion batteries I use in LED flashlights cheaply and quickly and it works great for this application. However, it requires at least 2.5V to operate, so it cannot be used for heavily drained lithium-ion, NiMH, or alkaline batteries. I've also thought about putting ferrules on the meter wires, which are easier to attach to battery terminals than bare wires, but haven't gotten my hands on that yet.

I am rewriting my review of the DC Digital LED Display. I have ordered 3 of these items and although the shipping process took a long time they all work great and have very accurate voltage readings. LED indicators are crisp and clear. Please ignore my previous review regarding long delivery times. Revain sends emails to customers requesting product reviews. A bit delicate but functional. All circuits are open circuit, so be careful when installing and handling them. There's a slight calibration setting on the back, which is good as you'll need to tweak it for accuracy. Also, as with any such display, you should use a transparent red filter in front of it to protect the unlit segments from ambient light. Otherwise the display will become harder to read. However, no filter is required in the dark.

High quality device. Bought 5 and they have all been calibrated within 0.1V of each other. There is a small setting on the back for adjustment. my reds; they are not too bright. I installed them behind a red plexiglass panel to improve contrast. The SMD devices are on the back of the board, the mounting tabs will require a couple of standoffs if you want to mount them with them on the back (eyeball size about 1/8 inch).
