Great for basic testing tasks

Seems to work well enough to test light at sensor point. The device itself feels incredibly cheap, like a dollar toy. The battery compartment is secured with a screw, creating a totally unnecessary barrier to accessing the batteries when they need to be replaced. Now if you want to use it anywhere in the field, you'll need to make sure you have a small screwdriver handy in case you need to change batteries.

Lux meter is the best of lux meters

This is not a perfect tester for detecting the light of a flashlight in a room, but it is good for detecting light bulbs in a room. I don't like that every time I turn it on it shows the temperature in Celsius. In general, it's easy to read the panel's description and apply the settings. I like that it takes standard AAA batteries which are easy to replace. This meter is easy to hold, and the light sensor protective film and case should protect it from damage.

Numbers that correspond to the expected performance of my lighting are not showing up

I was planning on using this light meter to adjust my lighting to make sure I was getting the maximum exposure without burning it out. My LED and the recommended readings I was expecting are not even registering on the device. For example, my light should be able to produce at least 20-100,000 (nominal) and this counter shows no more than 2000-3000. The instructions aren't very comprehensive, so I don't know exactly how to set up the meter. I had this meter reading below what I needed and was…
