Good price for a good tool

Poorly translated instructions seem to be the norm these days. It's actually getting old, but I digress. Accurate, no more difficult to calibrate than any instrument of its kind. Measures pH and does it well.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Not the best but 😒

This is one of my bad buys from Revain and it makes me sad 😥 Instructions or lack thereof are not at all clear. Upon receiving and opening the product, it looked like it had been used before. I did a simple calibration. Add one packet to 250 ml RO water. I prepared all three (4.00, 6.89, 9.18) in different 250ml cups. Stir with a spoon (RO clean), let stand and dissolve. Mixed again (OO clean). I cleaned the RO tester and placed it in a 6.89 solution. Not even close. I put the calibration back

  • Good but not great

Not calibrated correctly

Received last November, unused until January 2nd, thought something was wrong due to the amount of caustic needed to raise the pH. In the past, our water was always too high. When attempting to recalibrate, it was found that when the tester was placed in a pH 9.18 solution, it calibrated to pH 6.86, not 9.18. I tried everything, changed batteries and solutions, nothing helped.

Cons
  • Expensive

The calibration algorithm messed up

We were a bit disappointed with this counter, so I decided to calibrate it. Big mistake. It randomly picks the wrong point to calibrate. In a buffer with a pH of 6.86, he usually chooses a value of 9.18. In a pH buffer of 4.01, he usually chooses 6.86, but sometimes 9.18. From time to time one of the calibration points gets correct, but then when I try to calibrate pH 4.01 it distorts the whole calibration curve. I compare it to a pH 7.00 reference solution and get 7.34. The counter can no…

Calibration failed in a week! Recalibration failed

This meter seemed promising at first. I did the initial pH calibration using different buffer powders and distilled water. Well calibrated and delivered stable results compared to the test strip. It was used to read the pH of the water in an aquarium. In less than a week, I noticed that the readings were actually different than I expected. I checked it again against the test strip and it really wasn't the same as before and clearly out of calibration already. When I tried to recalibrate with…

Cons
  • Slightly dented
