I liked the look of the towels BUT the odor was overpowering and unpleasant. The coordinate track of the table made of the same material did not have this smell. It was packed separately. After reading many reviews, I decided NOT to wash the cream runner upon receipt. Instead I left it out in the 80+ degree sun for a few days and brought it in overnight to hang over an open closet door next to the air conditioner. And it helped.
