Description of DIKAVS Reed Switch Magnetic Switches

This is a small device called a reed switch. When the device is exposed to a magnetic field, the two ferrous materials inside the switch pull together and the switch closes. When the magnetic field is removed, the reeds separate and the switch opens. This makes for a great non-contact switch.

Great product and deal.

These switches are great, all 20 worked when arrived. If you are new to reed switches, be aware that they are very fragile. I've also found that it's best to run the magnet near one of the lines for more accurate and consistent results.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Good magnetic switches but very fragile

They work great but are very sensitive to bending wires. If you bend the glass, it will break and the switch will stop working. Be sure to hold the wire at the base with the needle nose pliers as you bend it.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Worked great but didn't last long

I have a set of 4 of these switches wired in parallel to safely switch a hidden 3v garage door remote with a magnet so I can hide the remote. I was very happy when the arrangement worked properly. But after several test operations (window dressing) he began to fail. I enlarged the magnet and that improved it for about half an hour and then nothing. Each of the three switches will no longer close regardless of the size of the magnets. Their mileage may vary but I'm glad they were cheap. I will…

Pros
  • Handy to use
