Mine drives like a champ

This little amp exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth the money if the specs are right for your application. Mine drives like a champ with a pair of Sony SS-F6000 speakers.

Good features and performance

First I bought Grace Digital 50W/ch BSTAR513 but it was too weak so I increased the performance in this version. No complaints. The extra power is significant compared to the Grace and this amp is a bit more flexible.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Weight

but it works really well. I'm using a fiber optic input here.

This thing just works. I had my doubts, but it works really well. I'm using the fiber optic input on this thing and I don't like anything about the surround mode. You hear hissing and strange noises. Since this is just a stereo amplifier, you need to connect the stereo input to the fiber optic.

Miracle of miniaturization, great sound and price

So much. I have one of these units installed at my parents house, connected to a Samsung SUHD TV (connected to the FX audio device via an optical cable) which also acts as an HDMI switch for multiple AV sources (Blu-Ray Player, TiVo and Apple TV). . ). The FX audio block outputs sound to a set of NHT SuperOne speakers (sensitivity 86 dB/W) and an NHT SA-2/subwoofer. The sound is really great, LOUD with no audible distortion. Really wonderful. As a bonus, it works great with Harmony remotes.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

So far, so good. I connected it to my PC.

So far so good. I hooked it up to my PC using a pair of Bose 201s I had laying around. I ended up using an optical line from my PC that allows you to control the volume through the PC. When using the USB input, it's a landline and the only volume control option was the FX audio volume control, which is very inconvenient. (that was my experience) The controls are nice and simple. The sound is pretty decent. 05/09/2020 - Update - the device still works perfectly, but the LCD. It fades and washes…

but the noise was just unbearable at around 30W

Lots of potential, but unfortunately too much noise. I was able to connect to my Android phone, a bit painful but ok. My 8 ohm speakers can handle up to 100 watts, but at 30 watts the noise was just unbearable. I tried the USB input but still the same problem. I've also experienced fading in and out at lower power. In general, I am disappointed with the performance. It's on the way back. It seems that with the STA326 chip, after 20 watts, the distortion increases sharply. I now have SMSL SA-98E

  • All digital transmission with D/A reduction
Cons

and multiple source options make it easy to connect with

Amplifier sounds remarkably clear. It has enough power for a variety of speakers and numerous source options make it easy to connect. I use it with the optical output on my TV so when switching between cable, computer, consoles or streaming services I don't have to change the source on the amp - the TV does the switching for me. Bluetooth receiver range. I can carry my phone in my pocket and walk around the house, even up the stairs and in the yard. I have a Harmony remote that already has the…
