Spring. he says compact. .

Good . . . he says compact. . . but damn it's tiny. Works well. I just wish they would state the size of the flag so it's clear how small it is.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Damaged

Great compact flash solution

Love how compact and simple it is. Works great for reducing glare and fits in my current camera bag. My only concern is the durability of the plastic mounting ring. So far it makes a solid and affordable impression.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Great alternative to the matte box!

I found it helps replace the Matte Box, much cheaper and I love how compact and versatile it is. Of course it doesn't have all the features or coverage that the Matte Box offers, but I found it worked great for what I need!

  • Availability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

works fine but seems weak

good so it's so good to keep it in the camera box because I use cheap lenses that flicker easily. something like that is hard to find (i use rags and t-shirts, but of course that's much nicer. but the plastic arm seems about to break at any moment. doesn't inspire confidence. but so far it's working.

Very stiff, difficult to adjust

Articulated arm is very stiff, joints do not move easily and require a lot of effort. They are also very noisy when adjusted and fall apart easily and are very difficult to put back together. Not as easy to use as some of the similar articulating arms popular for camera tripod legs, for example.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Clumsy but.: Camera and photo

It's clumsy. Looks ridiculous. It wobbles and flops if you grab it and twist it the wrong way. But I'll be damned if it's not insanely useful, it's easy to toss in a bag and a million times cheaper than any matte box. Just have a Phillips screwdriver handy (which should come with the camera anyway, along with a large flathead screwdriver and a set of allen keys, right?)

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Some mistakes

Forget the matte box.

So I have a little launch and spin video. I use a screwable variable ND and a circular polarizer. I just need a checkbox to control random glare on trigger. I don't want the whole matte box hanging on my camera. So I tried the Dinkum Systems compact lens tint and it was amazing. You can adjust the length and it attaches to your camera's hot shoe or cold shoe mount. The flag itself is well made from powder coated metal. If all you need is basic light control, this is a fantastic tool.

  • Sturdy finish
Cons

Well it does its job

I'm working on a documentary TV show shot with a Sony Z-1U camcorder with a wide-angle adapter for walking in tight spaces . I needed an eyebrow to get rid of sun glare without spending a ridiculous amount of money on a bulky matte brow box/mount and stand. I found this and tried it. I have to say that I love it and it has made photographing a lot easier and with a much nicer aesthetic. It fits on every camcorder/DSLR and doesn't interfere. It's even great to put on a large camera body with a…

Great solution to avoid glare

I've been looking for a similar solution for a long time, it was available but only through strange distribution channels. I was happy to see that this is readily available at Revain. I mainly shoot at night, and when I'm shooting in the city with wide-angle lenses, strong streetlights are always dazzling, even when they're not in the frame. I just used this for a night shot to capture the city's runway tracks (see uploaded image) and the shadow was very successful in preventing most glare, but

  • This is amazing
