📻 Universal AM/FM HD Car Radio Tuner with FM Modulator - DMHD-1000 by Directed Review

This HD tuner is a great addition to my standard FM radio. My favorite FM radio stations are on HD-2 so now I can hear them again. The unit is easy to install and operate, and it was a lot cheaper than buying a new radio just to get HD. I also find that the sound quality is better with an HD tuner which powers my old radio.

The reception of the receiver is good, easy to check and read. Unfortunately, I tried two devices and the line output of both was overloaded. One review I found says that grounding the device or waiting for it to warm up would solve the problem. Neither of those worked for me so I use FM modulation which works fine but in some cases you can't listen to HD radio with it.

This item sounds very close to CD quality, provided you stay within the signal range. Its usefulness becomes even more useful because once you find an HD radio station and get a signal, you'll find that some radios have more than one station on the frequency you're on. I live in Los Angeles, California. The device covers many HD channels. I won't go into functionality and controls in this review as other buyers have pretty much said it all. I just want to mention one distortion/over modulation issue I had as well. The repair is very easy and requires no soldering for me. One user mentioned soldering the gold pins to one or both of the audio jack's RCA outputs. What I did was strip the wire with exposed copper/aluminum (2-3 inches). The wire must be long…
