If you're using this on a desk, this is the best way to use the kit that sells this tripod AND the ring light they make. Great combo. Since I bought a ring light with a stand, I had to buy another one with this purchase. It came out for about the same money, but now I have another full boner to keep or give away.

Tried to use a regular tripod for the diva's ring light. Failed. It fell over and wouldn't stand up on its own, so I went back to Amazon because I saw briefly that it was a recommended product. I didn't want to pay $300 for a ring light just to destroy it. This works great for its intended purpose. Designed to support the ring light's weight, it won't tip over unless you open it fully.

While I didn't really like the Diva's 18" ring light (too big for my needs) I have to give it to the company for this table tripod.
