HC-SR501 is a fairly standard part, instructions and examples of this are easy to find online. They can be used without a Pi or Arduino, for example to turn on a light when someone is nearby - just connect pin 2 to the MOSFET gate. I tested two of these with 5 volts on the power rail and a multimeter on the output. Works as it should. Easy AF. Sensitivity and timing twitch pots. You could use pots with more revolutions - or you can modify them. The build quality is mass-produced consumer…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

Works perfectly. My batch had jumper pins

Motion sensors work as expected, used similar ones before. Soldered the light sensor in place RL. When there is light, no movement is triggered. When there is no light, movement is triggered. The included delay time potentiometer is 105 (1MΩ), so it can be adjusted from 0.5s to 200s. Though it doesn't seem as fickle as it should be. It is very difficult to narrow down the setting from 1 to 200 seconds. I had pin jumpers, not the solder jumpers listed in the description. However, this doesn't…
