2000 Ford Explorer needs a reset Error

I almost returned this actuator after installing it and it didn't work. I found out that you need to reset the EATC module. Start Ford, turn off the air conditioning. Press "Off" and "Gender" at the same time and immediately press "Auto". I ran the test twice and now the drive is working properly.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it everything is fine

AIR CONDITIONING DOOR OPERATOR DIY

I installed this part myself. Uncomfortable, but right behind the glove box. It fits and works perfectly. I'm getting great AC performance now on my 1998 Explorer. Thanks for making these auto parts available online - you saved ยฃ149.00 in labor (boy! mechanics can take advantage of your pocket - if you don't have the know- how, have the tools or the patience to do it yourself) Edwin - Arecibo, PR

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some difficulty

GREAT for 1998 Explorer with EATC (Digital Auto Control)

This is the one you use for Ford EATC (Auto Digital Control). On the Explorer 98 it is possible to replace a defective actuator by lowering the glove box by removing 3 pcs. 8mm self tapping screws and lift straight up. You must remove the replacement drive from its base by squeezing the split plastic spacer and gently prying off the ea drive cage. Corner. Then you can install a new drive, it will take patience to align everything. I used solid screw lugs for alignment and pressed them into theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Frequency

Good price some installation issues but works

The faucet door actuator on my 01 Explorer Eddie Bauer failed last winter and I finally found time to replace it a few weeks ago. In the meantime I finished my door by hand. The Ford Motorcraft drive for automatic HVAC control (aka EATC) is quite expensive (around $60), while the Dorman drive is much cheaper (around $14-15). The Dorman drive cost me less than $4 with my Revain/Chase goggles, so I decided to give it a try. Aside from a few fit issues (bolt holes didn't line up perfectly, plastic

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I won't say anything

For $25 you really can't go wrong.

The drive comes on a tray without instructions. I should probably dock two stars, but I'm only docking one. At first I thought I ordered the wrong part, but I checked again. To make it work in my old file explorer I had to remove the tray. If you look closely, you'll see that the tray is designed to tear off. It has four cotter pins that hold the tray in place. I used needle nose pliers to compress the pins and slide them back through the tray. It wasn't too difficult, but I did it slowly andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • So far satisfied
Cons
  • Will write later
