Great for 1994 Ford Explorer

Legitimate replacement for Original Equipment calipers on a 1994 Ford Explorer. The bracket came with two bolts, bushings and nuts. All measurements were correct which made replacement easy.

Nice little kit. I'm addicted to Dorman, the quality is decent for the secondary market.

Bought for my '94 Explorer. If you're only replacing one shackle, you probably won't be using two bushings. Nuts and bolts are metric grade 9.8 which is good, about 90% above SAE grade 8. Good enough for this application. If you've got a good jack, a stem-breaking impact wrench, and the right head, it takes a leisurely hour to swap it out. Then it's time for a flashlight or a meat grinder or something. Attention, the petrol tank and the filler neck are not far away!

Why they rot

I thought this part for a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer would be more expensive. Thank goodness Revain and the suppliers who work with them. The shackles were supplied with bolts, self-locking nuts and two different sockets. One sleeve was a straight medal sleeve and the other with a rubber insert. The latter is used at the end of a leaf spring. Which I didn't replace by the way. I don't know where the other one will go because it definitely doesn't match what is written on the car frame. The…
