Better OEM!: Parts

A great replacement for my 2004 VW Golf! Still holding on Not faded or anything like that. Very happy with this replacement better than the original.

The font is bold but works

Not bad, the font is bolder than the original so it's not as sharp and clean but it works. The shoe isn't the best, but it works.

but once it was done I was ready to go

Fits my 2002 Jetta perfectly replacing an old worn block. It took me a minute to figure out how to pull the old one off, but once that was done I was ready to go. I used a small clamp instead of the crimp clamp that came with the kit.

Pros
  • Body
Cons
  • Pretty good

Smells like cheap plastic.

The shift knob and skirt are fine and copy the original quite well but the clip holding it to the console didn't fit and I used my original so it's not really a problem. But the grip stinks of cheap plastic and the hand smells like that plastic after shifting until washed. The cabin smelled like pen for about a week, but now it's subsided a bit. It does the job and is a decent replacement, but based on the smell and reusing my original clip, it must be about $10 cheaper. Updated July 12, 2019…

Pros
  • Replacement parts

  • Crumpled packaging

"Skin " is good enough. I agree with other reviews

At $28 I wasn't expecting it to look OEM. At the same time, for $28, I expected it to be at least decent. And of course he does his job. "Skin" is good enough. I will agree with other reviews; If you want to save, buy something cheaper. I'll list my problems with it: 1. The plastic bracket didn't fit the console perfectly. It's ok, I replaced the OEM with my old spare boot.2. "Cap" of the top gear switch just stuck and immediately detached. I glued it back on and it came off again. I ended up…

Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
