Bought for use in a 1996 Mustang. I .

Purchased for use in a 1996 Mustang. I was a little nervous seeing some of the reviews that people couldn't remove the black plastic end from the metal shaft to install without damaging it. All my husband had to do was hold it by the metal rod with some force using pliers and it snapped instantly. It was a bit tricky getting it into the headlight switch, but we finally got it to click into place. That works great.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not perfect. on body

There was a problem with my application. I installed it in a 1999 Mustang GT. I also replaced the headlight switch assembly with one from the stock. The stock here is 0.3 millimeters larger than the factory stock. When I tried to install it, it didn't slide easily or even tightly through the rubber grommet in the plastic lock nut. I had to drill out the inside of the lock nut a bit to get it in and out properly. After that it snapped into place and worked as described. Even after a little more…

Will not fit 2002 Mustang GT

The product looked like it would fit to replace my worn 2002 Mustang GT headlight knob but the metal rod was not machined properly to engage the headlight switch. . If you compare the old and new handlebars side by side you'll notice that there are slight differences in the tip and the knurled part that needs to engage the rear derailleur. Unfortunately, no amount of elbow grease (or even a smack with a rubber mallet) would prevent the part from "hooking" the mechanism in the switch so it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Some cons

The ability to easily remove the knob from the shaft is paramount to proper use . When the handle cannot be removed, it effectively prevents the removal of the dashboard cover panel, access to the switch and a variety of other under-dash items. Inside the handle is a clip that should release the stock by squeezing the clip to release a small edge. Luckily I decided to test this latch before installing the handle. It didn't work, and even after breaking the grip all the way to the stock and…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No instructions

THIS PART IS ALL ONE PIECE, not TWO PIECE like OEM/Ford parts. I had to send the part back. I couldn't use this part with a 92-96 Ford F150. To replace/install this part in the switch body, you must first remove the bezel to access the switch body where the shaft of the handle assembly inserts into the switch. . Removing the truck dash bezel is necessary as you cannot access the switch housing without first removing the dash bezel. Removing the dash bezel is a bit tricky as you must first…
