THIS PART IS ALL ONE PIECE, not TWO PIECE like OEM/Ford parts. I had to send the part back. I couldn't use this part with a 92-96 Ford F150. To replace/install this part in the switch body, you must first remove the bezel to access the switch body where the shaft of the handle assembly inserts into the switch. . Removing the truck dash bezel is necessary as you cannot access the switch housing without first removing the dash bezel. Removing the dash bezel is a bit tricky as you must first remove the knob head from the shaft on the headlight handle block in order to remove the bezel without damaging the headlight switch itself. That's the problem. THIS PART IS ALL ONE, not TWO PIECES like OEM/Ford parts. The original grip (OEM/Ford part) can be removed from the steerer/stem using the tongue spring device on the back of the grip head. . This jig/spring allows the handle to be removed so that the dash bezel can then be removed leaving the shaft in place in the switch housing. If you don't remove the knob from the shaft first, you will need to pull on the knob head hard enough to pull the shaft out of the derailleur. If you pull the shaft out of the derailleur you will need to replace the derailleur as you will destroy the part of the derailleur that holds the end of the shaft. To remove the shaft end without damaging the switch, you must first have your hand on the switch body so that you can press the shaft release button located on the underside of the switch body. Pressing this button releases the retaining latch and allows the shaft end to be correctly and safely removed from the switch body. This is the only "safe" method of removing the shaft from the switch without damaging the clamping portion of the switch housing that holds the shaft in place and allows the switch to operate. This makes the $10 part a reason to fix the $50 part. Minimum $60 in installments. $60 combined with a lot of swearing and a time lag while you wait for your new order with more details. Another view is that if you use this part, you have to order another $60 parts every time you need access to the dash bezel. IMHO, if you don't want that headache, you're better off buying an OEM/Ford part ($$ to $$$) or a universal install knob ($ to $$).
